ABOUT CYNTHIA

Therapy is personal. Your care should be, too.

I'm Cynthia Carmack, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the therapist behind The Hopeful Wildflower.

I understand that reaching out for support isn't always easy. Whether you're working through painful experiences, navigating a difficult season, or trying to better understand yourself, you deserve to feel comfortable being exactly who you are.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you bring your own strengths and experiences into the counseling process. Together, we'll explore what matters to you, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop practical ways to move forward.

Support that meets you where you are.

WHO I WORK WITH

Along with supporting adults and couples, my experience includes working with military personnel, veterans, and first responders who may be navigating unique personal and professional challenges.

I recognize that every person's background, experiences, and circumstances are different. My goal is to provide individualized support that respects those differences.

Whatever you're facing, there's space to work through it.

Counseling looks different for everyone. My work focuses on helping individuals and couples navigate emotional challenges, difficult experiences, and important changes in their lives.

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma can affect how you think, feel, and connect with the world around you. Through specialized, evidence-based trauma treatments, we can work toward processing difficult experiences, reducing trauma-related distress, and building a greater sense of safety and stability.

When worry, sadness, or emotional exhaustion begins to affect everyday life, counseling can help you understand what you're experiencing, recognize unhelpful patterns, and develop practical strategies for managing difficult emotions.

Anxiety & Depression

Relationships & Life Transitions

Relationships and life changes can bring uncertainty, frustration, and difficult decisions. Counseling provides an opportunity to explore communication, understand relationship patterns, and approach change with greater awareness and intention.

Grief doesn't follow a predictable timeline. Whether you're grieving a loved one, a relationship, or another meaningful loss, therapy offers space to process your emotions and navigate life as it changes.

MY APPROACH TO COUNSELING

A thoughtful approach, centered around you.

Therapy isn't about having someone tell you how to live your life. It's about having the space, support, and tools to better understand yourself and make changes that feel meaningful to you.

My approach draws from evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strengths-based counseling. I also have specialized training in trauma-focused treatments, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART – Basic Training), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE).

When working with couples, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners better understand their emotional connections, recognize relationship patterns, and strengthen communication.

Rather than following a rigid formula, I tailor our work to your individual experiences, needs, and goals.
